Just Jealous Cause We're Young and in Love

How many people can say they have a music video starring them and their best friend/side kick/boyfriend?   I can.

Happy V day.

ligons, and tigers and bears, oh my?

After reading an article about a floridian "circus" family, for lack of a better word, that own a large sanctuary, I came across a bit of new information but what perhaps is already a widely known fact:

LIGERS ARE REAL THINGS.

yeah, this family owns one.  I've heard of zebroids before, but ligers? It's the ultimate cat.  I just thought it was something that that big-toothed, mouth breather said in a movie a couples years back as part of the oh-so-quotable humor of the rest of the film.  But no, ligers are actually living creatures.  And not only are they real, but so are TIGONS.

Let me explain.  Ligers are the offspring of a male lion and a female tiger.  They are the biggest cat in the world.  Obviously however, it's not very common that a lion and a tigress should meet in the wild and feel so overcome with feline hormones that the lion jumps the tigress and the tigress begs to be pounded by his spiny penis.  It's a captivity thing.

See...super cat!

I wonder who would win if a liger and a sabertooth tiger were locked in battle.

Oh, and a tigon is, as I'm sure you've guessed, when a male tiger and female lioness mate.  The result is pretty similar but just smaller.

Now I understand why Napoleon was obsessed.

I don't think I have any friends that have a lack of creative talent.

goodbye, cruel world.

A seriously talented man passed away this morning.  Alexander McQueen was only 40 and he was one of a kind.  They're always saying that fashion's always repeating itself. Well, obviously "they" weren't familiar with the designs of McQueen Thoughts go out to his friends, family, and his fashions...

summer in the city

This summer, my darlings, I was involved in a project - a short art film - that's currently going by the title of 'Summer Snapshot.'

Think: that 1970s-vibe summer you've always wanted to spend with your friends; driving around not giving a damn about how much gas you're wasting; looking for the next kegger; endless days spent on the river; pbr and whiskey; bare feet; polaroids; and of course, skinny dipping.

The film was shot entirely on a super-8 camera with good old, hard to come by, kodachrome film.  7 kids, including myself, along with a three person crew consisting of the lovely Ian, Bethany and Nell, piled into a wood-paneled jeep cherokee, drove to a 'secret' spot on the sandy river and went for it.  Clothes (or lack there of) and all.  Let me stress that it's an ART PIECE.

The reason none of you have seen it yet, is because it's not finished.  And that's where you come in!  Shortly, we'll have a kickstarter account up and running where you can bid on different items and vacations and wonderful things that reflect the feeling of the film.  Feel free to donate whatever you want - in some cases, it doesn't even have to be money.  We're trying to finish some final audio and post-production bits on the film and raise money to send it off to as many film festivals as our little hearts can think of.

Let me know if you'd like to help out and support this super groovy, portland, art piece.  I know your heart wants to.  Below you'll find a link to the facebook with more info about the project.  And some beautiful photos from our efforts this summer
