This summer, my darlings, I was involved in a project - a short art film - that's currently going by the title of 'Summer Snapshot.'
Think: that 1970s-vibe summer you've always wanted to spend with your friends; driving around not giving a damn about how much gas you're wasting; looking for the next kegger; endless days spent on the river; pbr and whiskey; bare feet; polaroids; and of course, skinny dipping.
The film was shot entirely on a super-8 camera with good old, hard to come by, kodachrome film. 7 kids, including myself, along with a three person crew consisting of the lovely Ian, Bethany and Nell, piled into a wood-paneled jeep cherokee, drove to a 'secret' spot on the sandy river and went for it. Clothes (or lack there of) and all. Let me stress that it's an ART PIECE.
The reason none of you have seen it yet, is because it's not finished. And that's where you come in! Shortly, we'll have a kickstarter account up and running where you can bid on different items and vacations and wonderful things that reflect the feeling of the film. Feel free to donate whatever you want - in some cases, it doesn't even have to be money. We're trying to finish some final audio and post-production bits on the film and raise money to send it off to as many film festivals as our little hearts can think of.
Let me know if you'd like to help out and support this super groovy, portland, art piece. I know your heart wants to. Below you'll find a link to the facebook with more info about the project. And some beautiful photos from our efforts this summer
